SAii Phi Phi Island Village

If you want to visit Koh Phi Phi and truly “escape the chaos,” SAii Phi Phi Island Village is another place I can’t help but recommend.

The Stay

This resort is on the opposite side of the island from the Ton Sai pier area. The atmosphere is pretty peaceful, surrounded by coconut palms and nature — and best of all, there’s a long beach right in front of the resort.

I chose to stay in a Deluxe Garden Villa — every accommodation here is a private villa. I love that each one feels quite private, and the villa is really spacious, with the bedroom, bathroom and lounge area all nicely laid out.

Activities

If you love staying active, there’s plenty to do here too: two swimming pools, a fitness center, tennis courts and various water activities, plus a Marine Discovery Centre where you can learn about the marine ecosystem. I went kayaking through the mangrove forest, and it was a really lovely experience — the perfect activity for a stay where you don’t need to rush anywhere.

Restaurants

Api Restaurant & Bar is the all-day dining spot, serving both Thai and international food. Breakfast is a buffet with a big spread and lots of stations to choose from — you can eat until you’re totally stuffed.

Miss Olive Oyl is my personal favorite. It serves Mediterranean-style food right by the sea, so you get to eat while taking in the view — so good. For another meal I tried Ruan Thai, which serves properly authentic Thai food, and overall the flavors were right up my alley.

Final Thoughts

What I loved most about this place is probably the atmosphere, because it really feels like a proper “island getaway.” You wake up surrounded by nature, stroll along the beach, chill out, or fill your whole day with activities. If you’re coming to Koh Phi Phi and don’t want to stay around the busy Ton Sai area, try staying on the Loh Bagao Bay (อ่าวโละบาเกา) side instead. It’s perfect for lazing around and letting yourself slow down a little.
